EGGS ARE IN THE INCUBATOR!

Chick eggs were placed in the incubator Tuesday morning at the Extension Office. (Special thanks to Juanene and Chris Johnson for the donation of fertilized eggs!) 

Stop on by to check out our Winnebago County 4-H ChickQuest display. Anticipated hatch date is December 12th (which will also be live streamed).

YOUTH AGES 13+ PLEASE COMPLETE THE THRIVE SURVEY!

The 4HThriving survey IS OPEN! The survey will be automatically emailed out to eligible youth to the address they have in 4-HOnline. Participation is highly encouraged and appreciated! The data will help educators strengthen 4-H programs at both the state and local levels.

4-H HOLIDAY COOKIE EXCHANGE

We also will put together hot cocoa mixes with: Snowman, Reindeer and Grinch Poop!

2023 4-H SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS

Current 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are eligible to apply.  
Applications and references are due December 2nd!


NEXT EXPLORING WORKSHOP – FUN WITH FLASHLIGHTS

Youth in grades 3-5 are invited to join Sarah Thompson in Fun with Flashlights.  Youth will make flashlights and earn about electricity and circuits.

HOLIDAY DRIVE THRU PARADE FOR PARKVIEW

Ridgeway 4-H Club invites you to join them on Sunday, December 4th for a drive thru parade around Parkview Health Center.  Decorate your car with signs, bows, lights and whatever else you like!  Meet in the JPCC parking lot at 2:45pm.  The parade will start at 3PM and will take 2 laps around the Parkview grounds.


YAC SURVEY FOR YOUTH IN GRADES 6-13

TITLE IX TRAINING REQUIRED TO BE AN APPROVED VOLUNTEER

We have many volunteers who have not completed the Title IX training that rolled out earlier this year.  If you have not completed it yet, it is now a requirement in order for your enrollment to be approved.  The training is not attached to 4Honline but can be accessed at: https://youthtraining.compliance.wisc.edu/  I have attached an instructional guide for the training to this email.


WI 4-H SPACE CAMP INFO

Explore the stars! Wisconsin 4-H Space Camp gives students the opportunity to experience how to build the skills of an official astronaut! Space Camp includes a bus ride to Huntsville, Alabama where the three-day Pathfinder Program is held. Registration is open on 4-H Online.  There’s only about 100 openings (with limited spots for 9th graders), so mark your calendars!

4-H NATIONAL CONFERENCE

National 4-H Conference annually brings 4-H youth and adults from around the nation to work towards strengthening and expanding the 4-H Youth Development program at the local, state, and national levels. National 4-H Conference is the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture’s premier youth development opportunity to engage youth in developing recommendations for the 4-H Youth Development Program. 

State applications, complete with signatures, are due to the State 4-H Office on January 2, 2023. The application materials are available at the link below. The application process includes answering a list of questions, obtaining a county educator (or equivalent) reference, and a resume. Delegates are chosen by a group of State staff members after reviewing each applicant’s qualifications. Interviews may also be conducted.
