ALL COUNTY 4-H MEETING

All clubs must send at least one representative to this meeting.


4-H PROJECT CHOICE DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31ST

All 4-H youth have until January 31st to add/delete/change their project choices in 4Honline. This is NOT the same as fair entry.(fair entry does not take place until spring) 4-H project choices are made by January 31 so that there is ample time for learning, growth and development within the project to prep for possible fair entries. This is a program deadline that has been in place for many years. PLEASE LOG INTO 4HONLINE AND DOUBLE CHECK THAT YOUR PROJECT CHOICES ARE THE ONES THAT YOU WANT. NO CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER THE DEADLINE.


4-H KEY AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Winnebago County 4-H Leaders’ Association Scholarship & Key Award Applications, References and Record Book are due February 27th

The Winnebago County 4-H Leaders’ Association awards up to five $500 scholarships to current 4-H members who are high school seniors. This includes one scholarship from the Judith Gruszynske Memorial (Oshkosh Area Community Foundation), one scholarship from the Stevenson Memorial, one scholarship from the Simpson Memorial and two from the Winnebago County 4-H Board of Directors. Scholarships are available to 4-H members who meet the following requirements: must have been a 4-H member for at least 5 years, must have exhibited at the fair, must have displayed an active leadership role, must graduate from high school, must attend college, technical college, university or a special education program either full-time or part-time, tuition costs must be at least $500, and student must achieve a 2.0 or higher GPA after their first semester.

4-H Key Award is the highest 4-H recognition you can receive. 4-H Key Award applicants must have consistent 4-H growth, be a 4-H youth in 9th grade or older, must have completed at least 3 years of 4-H and 1 year of youth leadership and contributed to service to their club, community, and county.

The Academic Scholarships (for post-high school education) and Key Award are a combined application. Youth can apply for just one or both, depending on their eligibility. All Requirements to apply are listed on the application:

4-H SUMMER CAMP SAFARI!

June 26-29th

The weather is cold, but we are making plans for summer camp!

See attached flyer for all the info!


WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SUMMER AMERICORPS PERSON

  • We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a summer Americorps (4-H Program) summer position! This person will help reach new audiences to help grow our county 4-H program. Here are some of the basics:Must be at least 18 yrs old and have HS diploma or GED
  • Start date: May 19, 2024
  • End date: August 23, 2024
  • Commit to working 450 hours during this time period (about 34 hrs per week)
  • Living allowance: $715.38 every 2 weeks (pre-tax), total of $5,000 over the 14 weeks
  • Education award: $1,956.35
  • Total financial asset: $6,958.35 (not a bad summer “paycheck”)
  • Other benefits: flexible schedule, UW Madison reference and resume building, professional development
