January 19th at Culvers Westowne Dr in Oshkosh

Stop by for dinner between 5-7PM.

Proceeds help fund county wide 4-H activities, events, camps and scholarships


4-H AMBASSADOR MEEETING

January 18, 2026

6PM at Joe Kuehnl’s residence (6767 Cty Rd T – Oshkosh)

4-H youth in grades 6 and up welcome.

What do 4-H Ambassadors do? They find creative ways to promote 4-H via parades, Fun Day, county fair and more!

DAIRY PROJECT MEETING

JANUARY 25, 2026

1pm at JPCC

Looking for older youth to help run some of the sessions on:

  • Nutrition
  • Animal selection
  • Halter care and tying
  • Training halter breaking

We have one, possibly two teams ready to compete in this year’s Dairy Quiz Bowl! If anyone else is interested, please contact Amy Jo to get the practice schedule.


2026 SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR APPLICATIONS DUE TODAY BY 4:30 PM

*Must be a 4-H youth in 9-13 grade.

  • 2026 4-H Summer Camp will take place at Camp Lakota June 14-17th.Please read the application info carefully: https://winnebago.extension.wisc.edu/4h/camp/Application, resume’ and reference forms are due to the Extension Office by January 9thPlease note: Reference forms are only required for new high school camp counselors.’

Group Interview Process:

Please prepare a 30 sec – 1 minute “commercial” to introduce yourself

  • Summarize your leadership skills and tell us why you would be a good fit as a camp counselor. Your commercial should be taken seriously and considered as something you would prepare for a job interview. The interviewing panel may ask you some questions.
  • After the commercials are completed, we will have our first camp counselor meeting where we will discuss camp roles and expectations as well as brainstorm a 2026 camp theme and discuss camp counselor training schedule

The GROUP Interview and first meeting will take place on January 18th from 1PM to 3PM at the James P. Coughlin Center.

The group interview/first meeting is MANDATORY.


KEY AWARD & SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

STEVE EICHMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This is a $500 college scholarship open to 12th & 13th graders in the Winnebago County 4-H Dog Project.

4-H PROJECT SELECTION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31ST

Please remember to make your final 4-H project selections in 4honline by January 31st. 

THIS IS NOT FAIR ENTRY.

4-H Project selection is choosing which areas you would like to potentially work on in preparation for fair. Fair entry, which is different and separate from 4-H project selection, takes place in June.

4-H QUILTING WORKSHOP – 4 SPOTS LEFT!

Youth in grades 3 and up are invited to learn how to make a Sew Quick Quilt!

Supplies to bring:

  • 3 coordinating fabrics:(SEE FLYER FOR EXAMPLE OF QUILT PATTERN)

Fabric 1: 1 yard

Fabric 2: 1.5 yards

Fabric 3: 1 yard

  • 3 yards of fabric for back
  • Matching thread (2 spools)
  • 1 skein of color coordinated yarn
  • Quilting Batting: TBD (don’t buy yet)

During our January 2024 All County 4-H Meeting, volunteers in attendance voted and passed a motion to request that volunteers log at least 

4 hours

 of volunteer time within our 4-H program each year to be eligible for annual 4-H Volunteer Service Awards.
