YOUTH THRIVE SURVEY

This fall, Wisconsin 4-H will be encouraging members (ages 13-18) to complete a survey about their 4-H experience. The survey will help

Wisconsin 4-H to learn about the quality of our programs.The survey will be sent to all Wisconsin 4-H members by e-mail in the first week of

November. Youth who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card!

COUNTY-WIDE EVENT: PEOPLE OF THE WATERS TOUR 

Attend this great county-wide 4-H project enrichment opportunity at the Oshkosh Public Museum. November is Native American Heritage Month, and we will be touring the People of the Waters Exhibit on November 18th at 10:30AM. The cost is $3 for youth and $8 for adults. Participants will also make a Native American style basket. See the attached flyer for all the details and how this event can align with

SHOOTING SPORTS LEADERS NEEDED

Are you interested in becoming a 4-H Shooting Sports Leader?

We are always looking for adult volunteers to be trained and help out with our 4-H shooting sports program in the spring. Registration is now open for the following adult certification workshops. The dates and locations are December 2, 2023, in La Crosse County and February 3, 2024, in Washington County. La Crosse County will offer archery and air rifle/rifle certifications. For Washington County, archery, air rifle/rifle and air pistol/pistol will be offered. THANKSGIVING COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT

Join Foods Project youth, parents, and siblings on this no-school day (for most).

Date: Wednesday, November 22 

Time: 9:00-11:30 am

Location: 2911 W. Evergreen Drive. Appleton, WI 

Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 10 years old. Youth, ages 10-16, must be accompanied by their parent or guardian for the duration of the volunteer shift

Volunteers will participate in a packaging, labeling, or sorting initiative. This will range from repackaging bulk products into family-friendly sized portions, packing a meal box for one of our specialty programs, or quality checking donated items before they reach one of the 35 local food pantries. We will complete the event with a tour of Feeding America’s impressive warehouse and learn about their organization.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow for check-in. The Volunteer Program staff will do an orientation for the activity. Please note this volunteer activity takes place in a warehouse facility that is cool; please dress in layers.

American Spirit Registration is open! American Spirit—grades 8-10, registration in 4-H online opens October 1. Dates of travel in 2024 are June 14-23, 21-30 or July 5-14. HOLIDAY PARADE FOR PARKVIEW

Join Ridgeway on December 3rd for a holiday car parade for Parkview Healthcare Center. Decorate your vehicle with holiday trimmings. Be ready to meet at 3PM in the JPCC parking lot and then go drive a few loops around the Parkview grounds.


ONLY 8 SPOTS OPEN FOR THE 4-H HOLIDAY COOKIE EXCHANGE!

December 10th at JPCC from 3-5PM.  Bring 4 dozen of one type of cookie or bar to exchange. Bring 20 copies of your recipe. Create a Holiday make-take gift. Fun music and reindeer games! Limited to 20 youth.

4-H SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS

2024 4-H NIGHT WITH THE HERD
