RE-ENROLLMENT OPENS SEPTEMBER 5TH

All youth and volunteers can re-enroll for the 2023-24 4-H program year beginning on Sept 5th. Please see the attached informational guide about re-enrollment.


4-H FAMILY AWARDS BANQUET – AWARD NOMINATIONS NEEDED

The 4-H Family Awards Banquet is scheduled for October 21st at Winneconne High School. We are asking for award nominations (see attached form). Guidelines for the awards can be found at: https://winnebago.extension.wisc.edu/files/2023/01/Banquet-Awards-Rubric.pdf  Please email your award nominations to dana.berger@wisc.edu no later than September 18th.

The Leaders’ Association Board will also have spots open for youth leaders and adult volunteers. If you are considering running, please contact Kay Lettau: kaylettau@gmail.com or Jen Crowley: crowleyview2@gmail.com (both on the nominating committee).

Banquet invite info will be forthcoming.

The Leaders’ Association is also in dire need of a treasurer. If you or another 4-H volunteer you know might be interested, please contact Joe Kuehnl at 920-836-1736.


IT’S 4-H PIZZA SALE TIME!

Pizza sales help fund 4-H workshops, camps, scholarships and more! Please see the attached pizza order form. Online ordering will be set up soon. Please check with your club leader to see when your club is collecting order forms. Club leaders: Pizza Count Night is October 19th from 6-8PM at JPCCPizza making is November 4th.   • Participation Sticker: All members who submit a record book to their club (traditional, digital, video or the new 4-H EZ Record Form) and that are not forwarded to the county level will receive this award. Note: The new 4-H EZ Record Forms are not eligible for advancement to the county-level.
  • Gold Achievement:4-H Club Work Sticker: all record books that club leaders nominate for a County Outstanding Award.
  • Gold 4-H Clover Sticker: County Outstanding Award
  • Merit Sticker: Exemplary!
  • Cloverbud Sticker: Received at the county-level to recognize their participation.

New “Best Of” Awards:

  • Best Cloverbud Record Book (either version accepted)
  • Best Traditional Record Book: Grades 3-5
  • Best Traditional Record Book: Grades 6-13

WI 4-H IS LOOKING FOR ARTS CAMP COUNSELORS

Become an Arts Camp Counselor! You will be in charge of planning the camp, guiding youth, and creating memories with members! Counselors need to be in grades 9-12 and looking to become youth leaders. The campers will be in grades 6-8.

NATIONAL 4-H DAIRY CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Dairy Project Members, gather a delegation and 4-H volunteer chaperone from your county to attend this great national conference right here in Madison, WI from October 1-4, 2023. This experience is open to current members that are at least 15 but not more than 18 years of age before January 1 of the conference year.

The National 4-H Dairy Conference is the place where leading dairy youth from across North America can come to interact with one another and build industry bridges that will last well into the future. Fun, hands-on sessions, tours, meeting dairy project members from throughout the nation and more are part of this great experience.


2023 4-H FALL FORUM

Save the Date for the 2023 Wisconsin 4-H Fall Forum! Fall Forum is an opportunity for youth and adult leaders to come together to connect, collaborate, celebrate, and continue building excitement and energy for a new year of 4-H learning! The Fall Forum weekend is planned by a team of youth and adults from the Wisconsin 4-H Leadership Council (which includes our very own Finn Lettau and Evan Numrich!) with the support of county and state staff. Mark your calendars now for November 4th & 5th at the Green Lake Conference Center! Watch our website for more details as they are available https://go.wisc.edu/4hfallforum.

NATIONAL 4-H WEEK IS OCTOBER 1-7

National 4-H Week is a great opportunity for 4-H clubs and projects to share their love for 4-H with others, recruit new members, and also thank those in the community that have helped support the 4-H program! This year we have TWO really cool contests happening! Plus, you can win some cool 4-H swag if you win the contests! Learn more about the contests below: 

Why I LOVE 4-H Poster Contest: Grab your colored pencils, markers, crayons, or paints and let your creativity flow by participating in the Winnebago County 4-H Week Poster Contest! Create a poster (can be any size) about why you love 4-H! Posters are due at the Extension Office by October 6th. Submitted pieces will be displayed on our social media pages after National 4-H Week and winners will be chosen in each grade category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-13) Winners will receive some cool 4-H swag!

Social Media Drawing: Break out your 4-H t-shirts, smiles and cameras to submit your entries into our social media challenge! Take a photo of someone in a 4-H t-shirt and share it on our social media any time during National 4-H Week! Don’t have Facebook or Instagram? No worries – photos can also be emailed to the 4-H Program Educator (dana.berger@wisc.edu) and will added to our county 4-H Facebook and Instagram pages! Participants: be sure to tag @WinnebagoCounty4-H on Facebook or Instagram so we see it! We will also have some cool prizes for our social media contest. Get those t-shirts, take a picture and tag us!
